Aggregate Plant Helpers

BURNCO Rock Products Ltd. has immediate openings for Plant Helpers in our aggregate plants. These are full time hourly positions that require shift work and overtime hours.

Duties include: correcting equipment problems, maintaining and inspecting equipment (ie: checking fluid levels, lubricating and changing wear items, etc), general plant clean-up and other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Knowledge of sand & gravel products and crushing equipment is an asset, mechanical aptitude required, ability to work with heavy equipment and the physical capacity to perform manual labour for an extended period is essential, must be able to work with minimal supervision and be an effective team player. Heavy Duty Mechanics

There are immediate openings for Heavy Duty Mechanics at our Shepard Road and Edmonton maintenance shops. These are full-time positions (40 hours per week).
Completion of a three to five year apprenticeship program of a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in heavy equipment repair is required. Heavy-duty equipment mechanic trade certification and experience in heavy duty truck maintenance is preferred. You are required to have your own tools.
Duties will include checking equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions; diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine extent of repair required; adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components of systems using hand and power tools; test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications; clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.

• Inspect and verify incoming shipments against invoices and other documents
• Coordinate parts returns to vendors in a timely manner
• Daily data entry and report generation for the Maintenance department
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications: • Experience in forklift operation and certification • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and to follow to completion • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills • Ability to correctly lift or move up to 50 pounds • Intermediate computer experience • Valid driver’s license

Wash Plant Foreman, Aggregate

BURNCO Rock Products Ltd. is a fourth generation family run business. There is a full - time opening for the position of Wash Plant Foreman on our Portable Wash Plant (PW 7). With this position, you will travel throughout Central and Southern Alberta.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervising the operation and maintenance of production plants
and gravel pit operations
• Ensuring a safe working environment
• Hiring and supervising all required staff
• Ensuring quality of all products
• Monitoring all costs associated with the plant operation
• Daily preparation of all paperwork
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications: • Experience with working aggregate • A good working knowledge of all Aggregate Production Equipment • Must be highly motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Work as a team player • Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment • Capable to multi-task
