Prepare the sub-base first removing the topsoil, then place 4 to 6 inches of compactable road gravel. Level and compact the sub-base, then place and screed the 1" bedding sand on top of the sub-base. Step 1, preparing the base, is the most important for a satisfying long-lasting, low maintenance final project.

Lay the pavers.

Cut pieces to fit the edges.

Cover the surface with a layer of sand and vibrate the pavers to their final level.

Sweep the remaining sand into the joints.
