BC Updates: West Kelowna Pit

The Company’s first pit in British Columbia will open for operation and sales in West Kelowna in 2012. With approximately 17 million tonnes of proven reserves, the Bear Creek pit will supply Okanagan construction markets from Penticton to Vernon for the next 50 years.

BC Updates: McNab Creek

In 2008 BURNCO purchased a 320 Hectare property at McNab Creek in Howe Sound. Only 30 nautical miles from Vancouver markets and with deep tidewater access this property, while still in the permitting stages, will provide Greater Vancouver construction markets with sand and gravel for an estimated 20-30 years.

Southern Alberta Project: Western Irrigation District Main Canal

This canal provides irrigation water to the various communities and farms east of Calgary to Strathmore, Alberta. Lining this canal is an armour designed aggregate produced by BURNCO consisting of large to small rock screened clean and specially stockpiled to avoid segregation.

Southern Alberta Project: LRT Sub-Ballast

BURNCO has supplied this material which creates a foundation for the LRT rail lines that is both structurally sound and free draining. The south, northeast and west LRT lines have all utilized BURNCO’s expertise in the production of this aggregate.

Southern Alberta Project: Sports Field Aggregate

Both the Shouldice Football Field and the brand new Calgary Subway Soccer Centre have benefited from the use of this special designed, angular aggregate that is both free-draining and impact resistant as a sub-layer underneath new and enhanced artificial turf.
