There is an immediate opening for a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic at our Shepard Road Maintenance Shop. This is a full time position (40 hours per week) with rotating Saturday shifts. We offer a competitive wage, benefit package, pension, and shift differential. This is a union environment with shift work.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Check equipment for proper performance, inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions;
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine extent of repair required;
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools;
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications;
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

• Heavy Duty equipment mechanic trade certification and experience in Heavy Duty truck maintenance is preferred;
• You are required to have your own tools;
