Sustainability

As a multi-generational family owned company, sustainability is our core value.

BURNCO has been progressively reclaiming aggregate quarries to maximize community benefit since the 1950s. Sites are returned to their native use or repurposed into beneficial end-use facilities such as wetlands, parks, or subdivisions.

BURNCO actively pursues sustainable practices to minimize waste and recycle processed materials for our families today and the planet tomorrow.

Cultivating A Culture of Farming and Beekeeping

Our lands are leased for agricultural purposes when not used for our operations. We handpick and collaborate with farmers and ranchers to ensure the best agriculture practices. BURNCO collaborates with Beekeepers across North America to host beehives at our aggregate operations. The honey derived from the hives is sold as Buzzco, with the proceeds going directly to charities.

Using Clean Burning Fuels

BURNCO uses natural gas to dry its aggregate and heat the asphalt cement. The blue smoke generated during asphalt production is captured using our state-of-the-art equipment and reused. Reusing blue smoke makes our plants more efficient and minimizes the discharge into the atmosphere.
