BURNCO Colorado
BURNCO & Suntec created a system for foundations where we supplied extra truck chutes to minimize wash-down time and expedite the unloading of each truck.
We also used a dual radio system to stay in contact with the contractor and the trucks to coordinate the location of each pour. The average slab pour was 1,000cy, and BURNCO used glow sticks in the early morning to keep drivers safe maneuvering through the complex site.
The mezzanine deck mix needed to be line pumped over 450ft., containing 7.5 lbs. of macro fibers/cy. This mix required to be placed with a high level of workability because the floors needed to meet the strict ff/fl requirements.

Project Challenges

This project was one of the fastest-paced projects in Colorado's construction history. This project has a vast site and hence had much activity daily.
The site coordination was vital to keeping this project on track and schedule. The 1,400,000 sq. ft. of mezzanine decks required a specialized mix to minimize the slab joints. The average deck placement was 32,000 sq. ft. and did not receive a single contraction joint.

Project Solutions

The new Amazon Fulfillment Center is a four-story, 2,400,000 sq. ft. structure at the northeast corner of I-25 and East 144th Avenue. The 2,400,000 sq. ft. facility on 80 acres will is the largest industrial building in Colorado. BURNCO & Suntec placed 68,800 cy of concrete in just 12 weeks to keep the project on schedule
