Three Brothers Concrete
BURNCO worked with Adolfson & Peterson and the MVER product manufacturer to coordinate the needs of the product. We also suggested and poured a test slab to validate the mix with the product and made daily adjustments to ensure the concrete finishers could give CSU a quality end product.
BURNCO provided quality control personnel for each pour to adjust the slump at the Jobsite via water-reducing admixtures. A&P and BURNCO seamlessly worked to coordinate the difficult site traffic with daily discussions about the surrounding projects and university needs.

Project Challenges

Health & Medical require the use of some admixtures for Moisture Vapor Emission Rate (MVER) Control. These products can take time to place and finish. They can also create difficulties in retaining slump for a very long. The Colorado State University campus was also a bustling location during this time.
A significant stadium project was underway, and four other major building projects were all going on in a very tight area. The university was also in session, which made the high vehicular and pedestrian traffic another difficulty.

Project Solutions

The building houses complete medical, counseling, health education, and prevention services for CSU students. It also includes services for the public through a CU Health walk-in clinic. A full-service pharmacy is open to the general public. In addition, the Columbine Health Systems Center for Healthy Aging has space in the facility for research, education, and outreach.
